Tom,
Please send me some description of your product.
I'll sure mention it, but that book is about Shooting 3D.
There may be another one on Posting 3D, if I my mental health survive this one.

Cher Bernard,
Perhaps there is space to mention emotion3D's upcoming stereo-to-depth-map post-production software? I read your first book eagerly and saw references to Ocula; we are a start-up based in Vienne, and are launching a similar but flickerless plug-in for After Effects at NAB 2011. Please feel free to contact me for details.
Sincerely,
Tom Wilson

Hi Bernard,
I would be really pleased if you had something about stereo pre-vis in there - whether it's Frameforge3D, Maya, or the color-system that Bionocle uses, I think it's presence merits some coverage. If you wish, I'd be more than pleased to assist you with any materials regfarding Frameforge3D.
Best,
Simon Sieverts

I'll be keeping a look-out for your book. I too have loose plans to have my "THE Film" ready for a premier ast NAB 2011 although this may be too close a call and 2012 is more realistic. Either way I feel it appropriate to 'show it' to the NAB-type professionals as a way to, at one bound, reveal and have it assessed.
THE is "The Holcus Effect" which extracts three dimensional information in conventional 2D material (motion picture film, television, video footage), previously unrecognized, and re-present it to the viewer who, paradoxically looks ONLY at the original footage, yet, after THE conversion, now sees the original in 3D, essentially as the originating cameraperson would have witnessed, had s/he had both eyes open at the moment of capture.
THE thus has an intrinsic characteristic of veracity and integrity, the viewer knowing that no CGI, no faux stereo pair-generation has been involved.
THE adds value to the archive, and provides potentially important applications ranging from education, museums, security, medical and others.
Although I consider THE not to be near the centre of your concern with this publication, if you would like to enhance the proposed content of your book to include THE in some way you consider appropriate, I'd of course be happy to provide whatever information I can.
I have demonstrated the prototype version of the THE viewer to:
The National Media Museum, Bradford, UK
The Imperial War Museum, London, UK
The Commonwealth Museum, Bristol, UK
The British Film Institute, London, UK
and other British locations,
The AGM of the AMIA at Vancouver 2003
and other private locations in the US.
What I witnessed again and again among these professionals, who deal with film every day, was a shocked and visceral reaction to my assemblage of THE-transformed material. A common response was, time and again, "Why didn't we know about this before?"
It is not ready for market but I know it will find specific niche's where the integrity and legal authenticity of the image is valued.
Feel free to ask any questions if what I've written here catches your interest.
Cordially

Hi Bernard,
We just sold a 10 episode series to Discovery's 3D Net, so will be DEEP in the 3D TV production world. Would love to collaborate a bit on the book (I loved your first), either interview and/or a chapter on TV production for cable networks (i.e. at low budget).
;-)

I lost your normal email, so getting you thru here, but please reply directly.
thanks
